Road users have been warned that a large-scale demonstration, or “Megademo,” that will take place to demand direct democracy on February 5, 2023, may cause traffic delays and the closure of the ring road in downtown Vienna. The gathering place for the protesters is at Vienna 1st district, Heldenplatz.
The demonstration will begin at 01:30 p.m. (local time) and last until roughly 05:00 p.m. (local time).
The demonstration runs from Heldenplatz via Burgtor-Ringstrasse-Franz-Josefs-Kai-Ringstrasse to Heldenplatz.
The demonstration may lead to localized transport disruptions.
