According to the US Geological Survey, a 7.4 magnitude earthquake shook Tonga on Thursday (May 11).

According to the US Tsunami Warning System, there was no tsunami warning issued following the earthquake.

The quake struck at 16:02 GMT around 100 kilometers (60 miles) off Tonga’s remote volcanic island of Niuatoputapu at a depth of 210 km, according to the USGS.
