Austrian authorities have apprehended an 18-year-old Iraqi national in connection with an alleged ISIS-inspired plot to attack Taylor Swift’s concert in Vienna, the country’s interior minister announced on Friday (09 August). The arrest comes after authorities made the extraordinary decision on Thur 08 August to cancel three of Swift’s Eras tour concerts in Austria, citing the prevention of a terror attack.
The Iraqi teenager is the third individual detained in this investigation, and officials believe he has ties to the primary suspect, a 19-year-old Austrian citizen of North Macedonian descent. Both suspects had recently sworn allegiance to ISIS, according to statements from the ministry.

During a raid on the 19-year-old’s residence, authorities uncovered a cache of dangerous materials, including explosive devices, detonators, ISIS propaganda, 21,000 euros in counterfeit money, machetes, knives, and anabolic steroids.
