According to the reports on Wednesday (20 August), Iran has issued a strong warning to Israel, stating that any new attacks on its territory will be met with a forceful response using more advanced missiles. Iranian Defense Minister Major General Aziz Nasirzadeh emphasized that the country’s current missile arsenal is far superior to what was used previously in terms of accuracy, range, and destructive capability. He made it clear that Iran is prepared to defend its sovereignty without hesitation.
The warning follows a recent 12-day conflict that began on June 13, when Israel launched large-scale attacks on Iranian territory. Israeli forces targeted military sites, nuclear facilities, and civilian infrastructure, and also carried out assassinations of key Iranian military leaders and scientists involved in the nuclear program.
In retaliation, Iran launched ballistic missile strikes against Israeli military and intelligence targets, signaling its ability to respond decisively. The situation escalated further when the United States intervened on June 22 with airstrikes against critical Iranian nuclear facilities. Washington later claimed to have destroyed Iran’s nuclear capabilities entirely.
Tensions remained high even after a ceasefire was declared on June 24, ending direct military confrontation between Tehran and Tel Aviv. Both Iran and Israel continue to exchange warnings, highlighting the ongoing risk of renewed escalation and the fragile state of security in the region.
