According to the reports of 27 June, a senior Iranian lawmaker has sharply criticized the latest US strikes on Iran, arguing that the attacks demonstrate Washington’s lack of commitment to diplomacy and ceasefire efforts. Ebrahim Azizi, who heads Iran’s parliamentary National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, said the strikes occurred while negotiations were still underway.
Azizi stated that the United States had once again targeted Iran during talks, accusing Washington of disregarding the principles of negotiation and peaceful engagement. He described the actions as a reckless violation of ceasefire understandings and warned that they would ultimately lead to “retreat and regret” for the United States.
The remarks came shortly after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that its naval forces had targeted US military positions across the region. Iranian officials said the action was carried out in response to recent American strikes on southern Iran, signaling an escalation in tensions between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported that the Port of Sirik in eastern Hormozgan province suffered no damage despite reports of explosions following renewed US attacks. Officials said port operations continue normally, adding that equipment and infrastructure remained intact despite the incidents reported near the facility.
