The NSW Police Force has notified Council that it is imperative to make a portion of Bronte Road one-way on Australia Day for vehicle and pedestrian safety, as well as to ensure emergency vehicles, including ambulances, can access Bronte Beach and Park if necessary.
Consequently, beginning Thursday, January 26, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. (local time), Bronte Road will become westbound only between Nelson Avenue and Gardyne Street.
Only resident vehicles will have access to Yanko Avenue, St. Thomas Street, and Gardyne Street.
For the hours that the changes are in effect, a diversion from Bronte Road to get to Bronte Beach via Evans Street and Macpherson Street will be in place.
