According to the reports on Saturday (15 February), Jharkhand ATS has uncovered an anti-India conspiracy involving banned organizations from Bangladesh. According to intelligence, Abdul Mammun, a terrorist linked to Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), illegally crossed the border via Dhuliya in Murshidabad and reached Pakur in January 2025. He conducted a secret meeting with an organization called JAHA, attended by several suspects from Bengal and Pakur.
During the meeting at the Islamic Dawa Centre in Dubrajpur, Mammun trained about 15 JAHA members on his operational module before returning to Bangladesh. Intelligence sources indicate that individuals from Jalangi, Murshidabad, also participated. ATS had previously gathered information about JMB’s activities in Sahibganj and Pakur, areas where the group has been active.
Following these revelations, ATS has launched a full-scale investigation into the matter. Officials have reached out to district-level authorities, including the SP and DIG, to collect confidential intelligence and coordinate necessary actions. Security agencies are monitoring movements along the border and within Jharkhand to track down potential operatives.
JMB’s presence in the region has been a long-standing concern for Indian security forces. The group has attempted to expand its network through sleeper cells and overground workers. Authorities remain vigilant, intensifying counterterrorism measures to dismantle any emerging threats linked to these extremist outfits.
