Battle in the Sudanese capital in the early hours of Sunday (16 April) left at least 600 people injured and 56 dead as the deadly conflict between paramilitaries and the regular army started its second day.
After the paramilitaries claimed possession of the presidential palace, the airport, and other crucial facilities, explosions and gunfire erupted on Khartoum’s desolate streets.
However, the army refuted the allegations and attacked a facility of the government’s paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the neighboring city of Omdurman.
