Delhi and its neighboring states awoke to chilly weather. On Sunday morning, the national capital’s low temperature was 4.7 degrees Celsius (15 January 2023).
The area around Palam had a visibility of roughly 200 meters. Due to poor visibility in the area, some planes that were scheduled to leave from the national capital were delayed.
Officials with Northern Railway reported that at least 20 trains were delayed.
According to weather forecasters, between Monday (16 January 2023) and Wednesday (17 January 2023), a cold wave is anticipated to reach Delhi and the surrounding territories.
People have been asked to minimize their outside activity after receiving a frostbite warning from the weather service.
