As the situation in the violence-torn state of Manipur eased further on Monday (08 May), the curfew was lifted in 11 districts throughout the state.
The curfew has been lifted from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. (local time) in Imphal East and West, and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (local time) in Thoubal, Kangpokpi, and Kakching. Jiribam is open from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. (local time), Bishnupur is open from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. (local time), Pherzawl is open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. (local time), Chandel is open from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. (local time), and Churachandpur and Tengnoupal are open from 7 a.m. (local time).
In all sensitive locations, more Army, Assam Rifles, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), and State Forces personnel have been deployed, as have area dominance exercises and preventive measures.
