A car bomb explosion on the outskirts of Manbij, northern Syria, killed 14 women and one man on Monday (3 February). The blast also injured 15 other women, all of whom were agricultural workers, according to Syria’s civil defense.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. This explosion is part of ongoing instability in the region, where similar incidents have occurred in the past.
The attack was the second in just three days in the Manbij area. On Saturday, another car bomb detonated in the city center, killing four civilians and injuring nine others, including children.
Authorities have not yet identified those responsible for the attacks. The recent bombings highlight the continued security threats in northern Syria, affecting civilians and agricultural workers.
