Despite the fact that the Yamuna began to recede, parts of ITO and Rajghat were drowned on Friday (14 July) after a regulator of the Delhi Irrigation and Flood Control Department suffered damage near Indraprastha, compounding an already critical situation.
The floodwaters even reached the Supreme Court, which is located on Tilak Marg in the city’s center.
The faulty regulator allowed Yamuna water to flow back into the city neighborhoods.
At 8 a.m. (local time), the water level in the Yamuna was 208.42 meters.
Flooding in the ITO and Rajghat neighborhoods has prompted authorities to impose traffic restrictions.
