On Sunday, January 1st, a 5.4-magnitude earthquake occurred 15 km (9.3 miles) southeast of the Rio Dell region of California.
When compared to the previous earthquake, which occurred on December 20, 2022, the US Geological Survey reports that this one was shorter but more severe.
The town’s power supply was cut off, and 30% of the town’s water supply was shut down. One of the major roadways in the community has a 35-foot crack in it.
Following the earlier earthquake, some homes and structures sustained more damage on Sunday 01 January 2023.
