According to the reports on Wednesday (13 August), Israeli strikes in Gaza over the past 24 hours have killed 123 Palestinians, including 21 people who were seeking aid, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. In the same period, 437 more individuals have been wounded. The ministry’s figures highlight the ongoing intensity of the conflict and its severe toll on civilians.
Alongside the violence, hunger is taking a deadly toll. At least eight people, including three children, have died from starvation in the past day alone. These deaths have pushed the total number of hunger-related fatalities to 235, with 106 of them being children. The figures underline the worsening humanitarian crisis in the territory.
Since the war began on October 7, 2023, Israel’s offensive in Gaza has killed 61,722 Palestinians and injured 154,525. The numbers reflect both the scale and persistence of the violence over the past several months. The conflict has affected every aspect of civilian life, with basic survival increasingly under threat.
Aid distribution has also proven deadly for many. The Gaza Health Ministry reports that 1,859 Palestinians have been killed and more than 13,409 injured while trying to obtain aid since Israel implemented a controversial distribution mechanism through the US-based Gaza Humanitarian Foundation. This process has drawn criticism for failing to protect civilians seeking basic assistance.
