Hamas accused Israel on Tuesday (4 February) of violating the latest ceasefire agreement by failing to increase humanitarian aid to Gaza. The group called on mediators to intervene, emphasizing the urgent need for more assistance to civilians affected by the ongoing conflict.
The accusation came just before Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House. Hamas had earlier expressed its willingness to discuss the second phase of the ceasefire, indicating that negotiations were still ongoing despite rising tensions.
Meanwhile, in the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces shot and killed a gunman who allegedly opened fire at a military checkpoint. The attack resulted in the deaths of two Israeli soldiers and injuries to several others, further escalating the security situation in the region.
Following Netanyahu’s discussions in Washington, Israel announced plans to send a working-level delegation to Qatar by the end of the week. The delegation will focus on technical aspects of the ceasefire’s second phase, signaling continued diplomatic efforts to stabilize the situation.
