According to the reports on Monday (14 October), four Israeli soldiers were killed in a drone strike carried out by Hezbollah on Sunday (13 October). The attack targeted a military base near Binyamina, located south of Haifa, amid increasing tensions between Israel and the Iran-backed militant group based in Lebanon. In addition to the fatalities, seven Israeli soldiers were severely injured in the strike.
The Israeli military confirmed that the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) launched by Hezbollah struck an army base. The incident marks a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict between the two sides. Hezbollah, which has been at war with Israel for years, has increasingly used drones in its operations.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the strike, announcing it had launched a “squadron of attack drones” at the Israeli base in retaliation for recent Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon. This move indicates the group’s intent to respond forcefully to Israeli military actions, further intensifying the conflict in the region.
The escalation underscores the growing use of advanced drone warfare in the conflict, highlighting the rising threat posed by Hezbollah’s expanding capabilities. The incident also raises concerns about further violence as both sides engage in retaliatory actions.
