As per reports on Monday (02 October), the Manipur government has extended the ban on mobile internet till Friday (06 October), citing ongoing worries about preserving public safety and preventing the spread of misinformation via social media.

Three days after it had been lifted, on Tuesday (26 September), the internet restriction was reinstated for a five-day period as a result of student protests over the murders of two members of the Meitei community.
