According to the reports on Friday (19 September), Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has issued a sharp warning to Houthi leader Abdel Malik al Houthi following a suspected missile launch from Yemen toward Israel. In a post on X, Katz declared that the Houthi leader would be “sent to the depths of hell,” signaling a severe escalation in rhetoric between Israel and the Yemen-based group. He also vowed that the Houthis would lose control of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa.

Katz’s statement included a symbolic threat, claiming that the Houthi flag’s antisemitic slogan would one day be replaced by the Israeli blue and white flag flying over a united Yemen. His remarks underscored Israel’s readiness to confront the Houthis directly and challenge their hold on power in the region.

This threat comes shortly after an Israeli airstrike in late August killed Ahmed al Rahawi, the prime minister of the Houthi-led government in Yemen, along with several other ministers. The strike has intensified tensions and raised fears of broader regional conflict, as Yemen remains a critical hotspot in the Middle East power struggle.

Meanwhile, the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom has reported that roughly 480,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced from Gaza City amid ongoing Israeli military operations. Citing official Israeli security sources, the report highlights the growing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, adding another layer of urgency and volatility to the already escalating situation.
