On Saturday, 24 June, the Manipur government reduced the curfew from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. (local time) in Imphal East and Imphal West.
The district magistrates of Imphal East and Imphal West issued orders on 24 June extending the curfew relaxation from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. (local time) in both districts.
The curfew relaxation does not apply to Hatta Crossing to RDS Crossing in the East; the Imphal River from Sanjenthong to Minuthong in the West; Minuthong to Hatta Crossing in the North; and RDS Crossing to Sanjenthong in the South, according to the Imphal East district magistrate order.
However, after the relaxation time expires, any persons working in critical services such as health, PHED, electricity, media employees, and court operations would be excused from future curfew enforcement.
On the other hand, the Manipur police said that a mob set fire to the private godown of L Susindro, a state government minister, in Chingarel, Imphal East district.
