The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken immediate and decisive action in response to the ongoing violence and plot in Manipur, registering six FIRs in connection with the incidents.
So far, ten people have been arrested due to the inquiry. Furthermore, the CBI is preparing to file a seventh FIR concerning a horrifying gang rape assault filmed in a viral video.
Manipur’s condition has been tainted by 86 days of turmoil, pushing the central government to intervene.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has filed an affidavit with the Supreme Court revealing that the inquiry into two women paraded naked has been delegated to the CBI.
In order to ensure an unbiased and timely trial, the government has requested that the case be moved out of Manipur.
