On 08 September, an armed miscreant shot one person dead and critically injured 50 others in Pallel, Kakching district.
Heavy shooting persisted, injuring nearly 50 individuals.
People from the surrounding communities gathered to protest the attack and attempted to march towards the location where the shooting began.
The Assam Rifles halted them because most were women and unarmed.
TAKDAL (Thoubal and Kakching District Apunba Lup) has declared a public curfew on 8 and 9 September to protest the state’s failure to regulate the Manipur crisis.
