In Nahtah, a town in the eastern countryside of Daraa, masked gunmen on two motorcycles attacked a wedding party, firing directly at the guests. A young man in his twenties was injured in the hand, while another sustained minor injuries. The attackers managed to escape to an unknown destination.
This incident is one of many contributing to the ongoing security disorder in Daraa province. Since the beginning of 2024, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) has documented 254 such incidents, leading to numerous casualties.
The 270 people killed in these incidents include 79 civilians, among them eight women and 18 children. Others killed include regime soldiers, members of local factions, ISIS fighters, and collaborators with the regime and Hezbollah.
