According to the reports on Monday (18 November), The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out successful airstrikes in Zamfara State, targeting and eliminating numerous bandits, including key loyalists of notorious leaders Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule. These operations were part of Operation FARAUTAR MUJIYA, aimed at curbing banditry in Northwestern Nigeria. The airstrikes, conducted on Friday (15 November 2024), focused on a large assembly of bandits in Babban Kauye village, a known hub for criminal activities in Tsafe Local Government Area.
Intelligence sources revealed that the bandits were planning coordinated attacks on civilians and military personnel along the Tsafe axis. Acting on this credible information, the NAF executed precise air interdiction missions, causing significant damage to the bandits’ operational capabilities. Reports confirmed the elimination of several high-ranking members, striking a severe blow to the factions led by Dan-Isuhu and Dogo Sule.
The Tsafe area has long been a hotspot for violent bandit activities, with groups using remote villages like Babban Kauye as strategic bases for planning and executing their operations. These factions have been responsible for numerous assaults on local communities, security forces, and critical infrastructure, contributing to instability in the region. The latest airstrikes disrupted their plans and demonstrated a robust response by the NAF to restore peace.
The NAF reaffirmed its commitment to working alongside sister services and other security agencies to eliminate threats from bandits, terrorists, and other criminal elements. These efforts are part of a broader strategy under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to dismantle bandit networks and ensure long-term stability in Northwestern Nigeria. The airstrikes highlight the NAF’s dedication to securing the region and protecting the nation’s peace and prosperity.
