As per reports from July 25 in a significant development two weeks after a major terrorist attack on the Indian Army in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir, the police have arrested two individuals for allegedly aiding the attackers. The attack, which occurred, resulted in the death of five soldiers and injuries to five others.
The arrested individuals, identified as Liyaqat Ali and Mool Raj, are accused of being Over Ground Workers (OGWs) for the Pakistan-backed terrorists involved in the attack. According to police reports, Ali and Raj provided logistical support to the attackers, including access to a Wi-Fi facility, which was crucial for coordinating the assault. Both have been booked under stringent anti-terror laws.
Following the attack, a massive crackdown was launched in Kathua to identify and detain any individuals who may have supported or facilitated the terrorists. Over 100 persons were initially detained for questioning as part of this operation. The police have conducted extensive interrogations, with more than 100 individuals being questioned. Preventive measures have been taken against over 40 others to mitigate any further risks and disrupt potential support systems for terrorist activities.
