Three policemen were martyred, and five terrorists were killed in a foiled attack on Bannu police lines on Monday (14 October). The terrorists launched the assault by indiscriminately firing in an attempt to infiltrate the facility, but swift action from the district police neutralized all attackers.
Following the attack, the surrounding roads were sealed off, and security forces were placed on high alert to prevent further incidents. The swift police response successfully prevented any more damage or casualties within the police facility.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur praised the police for their bravery and quick handling of the situation. He requested a detailed report from the KP police chief regarding the incident and assured the public that measures were in place to safeguard the region.
Expressing sorrow over the loss of the three policemen, Gandapur offered his condolences to their families and vowed full support. He condemned the attack as a cowardly act by anti-state elements, affirming that such actions would not demoralize the police force or disrupt peace in the province.
