According to the reports on Friday (13 December), The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) received a bomb threat email written in Russian, prompting Mumbai police to launch an investigation. A case was registered at the MRA Marg police station against an unknown individual. Meanwhile, several schools in Delhi, including Bhatnagar International, Cambridge, and DPS Amar Colony, also received bomb threat emails, causing significant concern among parents and authorities.
The emails claimed that explosives were planted on school premises and might detonate during parent-teacher meetings. Security agencies, including bomb disposal units, conducted extensive searches but found no suspicious items. School administrators advised parents to keep their children at home until the situation was fully assessed.
These threats followed a similar incident on Monday (9 December), when 44 schools across Delhi received hoax bomb threat emails. The recurrence of such threats has heightened concerns about school safety. Authorities believe the emails were sent using a VPN linked to Utica, New York, complicating the investigation process.
Delhi police are working to trace the source of the emails while urging the public to remain vigilant. In recent months, they have noted a concerning trend of similar threats targeting educational institutions, hospitals, and public spaces. Efforts are ongoing to strengthen security measures and ensure a safe learning environment for students.
