Russia Launches Deadly Drone and Missile Attack

On the night of Saturday (26 April), Russia launched a large-scale attack against Ukraine, using 114 drones and three missiles, including the Onyx anti-ship missile and two X-31P anti-radar missiles. These attacks were carried out from several areas, including Kursk, Millerovo, Orel, and Prymorsko-Akhtarsk. The Ukrainian Air Force confirmed that the majority of the drones were intercepted and destroyed.

Ukraine’s air defense system responded swiftly, utilizing aviation, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare systems, and mobile fire groups. By 10:00 a.m. (local time) Kyiv time, Ukrainian forces had successfully shot down 66 Shahed drones and other types of UAVs across the east, north, south, and center of the country. Additionally, 31 enemy imitator drones were neutralized during the defense operations.

Despite the successful interception of many drones and missiles, the attack caused notable damage in several regions. The Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Kyiv, and Dnipro regions were all affected. In Kamianske, the number of casualties rose to four, and another casualty was reported elsewhere, reflecting the human toll of the assault.

In addition to human casualties, significant material damage was reported. Warehouses in Kropyvnytskyi were hit during the attack, and efforts are ongoing to clear debris and repair the affected areas. Ukrainian authorities continue working to eliminate the consequences of the attack and restore normalcy in the impacted regions.
