As per the report from July 25, Russia launched 38 Shahed kamikaze drones at Ukraine overnight, with three straying into Romania’s airspace, according to confirmations from both Romanian and Ukrainian ministries. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that 25 of the drones were intercepted and shot down by Ukraine’s air defense systems.
Three Shahed drones crossed into Romania, bordering Ukraine’s Odesa region, which experienced heavy bombing overnight. The Ukrainian Air Force noted that the drones breached Romanian airspace while targeting ports in the Odesa region.
During the attack, residents in Romania’s Tulcea area reported hearing multiple explosions. Authorities in Romania warned that fragments of drones might fall to the ground, advising residents to remain cautious.
