Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) canceled multiple domestic and international flights in the midst of a significant financial crisis.
Flights from/to Karachi airport were canceled when the national airline failed to pay Pakistan State Oil (PSO) for fuel supplies.
The canceled flights include Karachi-Turbat, Karachi-Gwadar, Karachi-Quetta, Karachi-Sukkur, and Karachi-Multan.
Previously, it was stated that Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is in danger of grounding 15 jets because it has yet to discharge debts of up to $20 billion. Furthermore, over 30 flights will be canceled if the planes are grounded.
Failure to pay fuel, Federal Excise Duty (FED), and lease payments on schedule could result in the grounding of 15 planes.
Revamping the PIA will be a “complicated” procedure that will take a year.
