According to the reports on Monday (2 December), Syria’s ongoing anti-terror operation has led to significant losses among terrorist groups, with around 320 militants killed in recent clashes across the northern provinces of Aleppo, Idlib, and Hama. This brings the total number of deaths to approximately 1,300 since the operation began. Syrian and Russian air forces have conducted multiple strikes targeting terrorist gatherings and their leaders, particularly around the al-Hamadaniah sports complex in Aleppo, inflicting heavy casualties on the militants.
In addition to airstrikes, Syrian forces also destroyed 63 armored personnel carriers and other military vehicles belonging to the terrorists. One of their drones was shot down over Masyaf, west of Hama. The army’s success has been a result of cooperation between Syrian and Russian forces, focusing on eradicating terrorist cells that had attempted to stage a resurgence in the northern regions of the country.
Amidst the military actions, villagers in Hama’s Zughba village also played a crucial role by ambushing and killing a group of Takfiri terrorists who attempted to invade the area. Meanwhile, Syria’s Chief of General Staff, Abdul Karim Mahmoud Ibrahim, visited the northern parts of Hama after these areas were cleared of terrorist presence, signaling continued government control over the region.
Despite terrorist groups and their Western allies launching a media campaign to discredit the Syrian military’s operations, including false reports of military withdrawals, the Syrian government has dismissed these claims. The government remains steadfast in its efforts to defeat terrorism and restore stability to the country, with the Syrian military continuing its counterterrorism drive with renewed focus.
