According to the reports on Friday (07 November), the death toll from Typhoon Tino, internationally known as Kalmaegi, has risen to 188, with 135 people reported missing and 96 injured. These figures were provided by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) and are based on reports from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC). Officials noted that the numbers remain subject to validation and could change as further information comes in.

In addition to the devastation caused by Typhoon Tino, another tropical system, Fung-wong, has intensified into a severe tropical storm. Early Friday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that Fung-wong strengthened around 2 a.m. and is forecasted to enter the Philippine area of responsibility over the coming weekend.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has issued strict instructions to local government units (LGUs) to carry out mandatory evacuations for residents in high-risk communities. Officials emphasized the importance of moving people before weather conditions worsen, particularly in areas prone to flooding and landslides.

Authorities continue to monitor both Typhoon Tino and severe tropical storm Fung-wong closely. With the public being warned of potential hazards, efforts are focused on minimizing casualties and ensuring that affected communities receive timely support and assistance.
