The Meteorological Department of Scotland issued a weather warning for parts of Scotland for 30 December (Friday).
The Scottish Borders and some of Dumfries and Galloway were under an amber rain alert. Other regions of Scotland have also received weather alerts for rain, snow, and ice. On some untreated roads, pavements, and cycle lanes, there will also be icy patches. On 30 December (Friday), the amber alert will be in effect until 2 p.m. (local time), while the yellow alerts will be in effect until 9 p.m. (local time). The possibility of hazardous driving conditions as well as potential delays or cancellations of train and bus services have been cautioned to motorists.
