On Friday (29 September), a suicide attack on a religious gathering in Pakistan’s Balochistan province killed at least 52 people and injured more than 50 more.
The powerful explosion occurred near a mosque in Balochistan’s Mastung district, where people were gathered to commemorate Prophet Muhammed’s birth anniversary.
The district administration claims that DSP Nawaz Gashkori of Mastung is one of the victims. He was on duty since there was going to be a religious gathering nearby.
The bomber blew himself up close to the Deputy Superintendent of Police’s car. No one has taken ownership of the explosion. In a statement, the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) denied any involvement.
