The Congress won the Karnataka assembly elections after a well-planned campaign that began more than a year ago.
The campaign included huge events, popular slogans such as “40% sarkar” that focused on the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) government’s alleged corruption, and putting up a united face despite having more than one claimant for the chief minister’s job.
On the eve of the important assembly elections, Section 144 was implemented in Bengaluru, Karnataka’s capital city.
To minimize adverse occurrences, the Bengaluru police have tightened restrictions on the counting day. Section 144 will be in effect throughout the district from 6 a.m. (local time) on Saturday (13 May) to 12 a.m. (local time) on Sunday (14 May).
