According to the reports on Tuesday (12 November), Unknown gunmen suspected to be terrorists attacked the Pasakori community in Jema’a, Kaduna State, killing at least five people and injuring several others. This recent violence continues a troubling trend of attacks in Nigeria’s middle belt region, especially impacting southern Kaduna communities. Local leader and APC chieftain, Engr. Joseph Ciroma confirmed the attack and expressed his sorrow over the tragic loss of lives.
Ciroma condemned the attack as a “heinous act” and lamented that such violence threatens the progress the people of Jema’a and southern Kaduna have made toward rebuilding trust and fostering peace in the region. He extended his condolences to the families of the victims and expressed hope for the quick recovery of those injured. Ciroma emphasized that the attackers had no place in a civilized society.
In his statement, Ciroma called upon government authorities to swiftly apprehend those responsible for the attack. He urged that the perpetrators face justice to prevent further violence and support community recovery efforts. He reiterated the need for strong governmental intervention to ensure security and rebuild trust in the region.
Following the attack, security forces moved into the area to restore calm, with additional personnel dispatched to monitor and protect the community. This attack marks yet another violent incident in Pasakori, which faced a similar tragedy in 2015 that left casualties and extensive damage. Local police have yet to issue an official response, underscoring the need for effective security measures in this vulnerable region.
