According to the reports on Wednesday (13 November), Iranian security forces recently conducted an extensive anti-terror operation in the southeastern region of the country, focusing on areas known for unrest. General Ahmad Shafaei, the spokesperson for the “Martyrs of Security” drills, confirmed the elimination of four terrorists and the arrest of seven others in recent confrontations. Additionally, five suspects surrendered voluntarily to security forces, temporarily ending this specific round of operations.
The operation, led by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), began on October 31 to stabilize high-risk areas through intensified security measures. Shafaei emphasized that the IRGC would persist with the operation until all security objectives are met, reinforcing the region’s stability against future threats.
Shafaei highlighted that the drills are concentrated within Sistan and Baluchestan province, a region frequently affected by militant activity. Specific counties targeted include Sarbaz, Kalat, Nik Shahr, Rask, Mehrestan, and Qasr-e Qand. This strategic focus is part of Iran’s broader efforts to secure border areas and neutralize threats posed by terrorist groups.
These ongoing anti-terror measures reflect Iran’s commitment to regional security, especially in volatile southeastern areas. Through operations like the “Martyrs of Security” drills, Iran aims to enhance its defensive capabilities and deter terrorist threats, ensuring a safer environment for citizens in the affected regions.
