More than 13,000 residents in Alberta, Canada, have been evacuated as wildfires spread across the region, which is experiencing unusually hot temperatures and heavy winds.

At least 78 fires are burning in the Western Province, with 19 of them being out of control, according to Stephen Lacroix, director of the District Emergency Management Agency, during a press conference on Friday (05 May).
