Sudan crisis: the number of dead rises to 604

The death toll from Sudan’s ongoing crisis has grown to 604 persons, including civilians, according to the UN health agency on Tuesday (09 May).

The fresh data come as representatives from both warring parties meet in Saudi Arabia.

More than 5,100 people were also injured as a result of the conflict, according to World Health Organisation spokeswoman Tarik Jasarevic.

The Sudanese Doctors’ Syndicate, which only counts civilian casualties, reported 487 deaths on Monday (08 May).
