A disturbing video of two Manipur women being paraded naked has gone viral, prompting the Indigenous Tribal Leaders’ Forum to criticize it as evidence of terrible abuses.
The incident occurred in the Kangpokpi area amid mob unrest after a village was set on fire.
The case was registered at Nongpok Sekmai police station after a relative submitted a zero FIR.
The mob murdered two men, forcibly undressed, and gang-raped three women, and the victim’s brother was slain while attempting to protect her.
Fortunately, the three women were able to flee with the assistance of neighbors.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation in order to bring the offenders to justice.
