A new earthquake of magnitude 5.9 was detected on Tuesday (07 February 2023) in the wee hours, one day after three earthquakes rattled Turkey and Syria. According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the earthquake occurred in central Turkey. The earthquake was at a depth of 2 kilometers.
