Between the Hume Highway and Hanson Road, Craigieburn Road will be blocked until February 28, 2023, due to construction work. The seven-week work spree is to construct a new motorway junction, which began on 10 January 2023.
The improvements will enhance linkages between Craigieburn Road, the highway, Hardy Avenue, and Walters Street. The work is a component of the Craigieburn Road upgrade project.
Crews will be working around the clock during the seven-week construction blitz to add extra lanes to the crossing, which can handle more than 28,000 vehicles per day.
Additionally, Bridgewater Road is now undergoing construction, and it will be blocked between Craigieburn Road and Clovelly Drive until January 25. Aitken Boulevard, which will be blocked until February 28 due to construction, is also getting extra lanes added.
Residents are advised to consider alternate routes.
