Landslides and flashfloods that ravaged infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in recent days killed 13 additional persons on Tuesday (11 July).

The combination of the Southwest monsoon and western disturbances caused a double whammy in North India.

According to the Met Office, the bad weather will remain in Uttarakhand until at least Thursday (13 July).

Flash floods destroyed important bridges, and many multi-story structures on river banks collapsed or were carried away. At Sainj in Kullu district, Himachal, as many as 40 shops and 30 residential houses were washed away.

According to a local, the flood entirely destroyed the village of Bekar in Sainj. It included 15 dwellings as well as 200 bighas of agricultural land.

According to officials, several portions of Kasauli remained without electricity and water for the fourth straight day due to a grid failure caused by landslides that occurred across Himachal Pradesh following heavy rain.

According to the authorities, the Solan electricity grid failed due to the extensive damage caused by landslides in numerous areas of Solan.

Residents in Kasauli have been without power for the previous four days.

Many individuals reported that their inverters were discharged and their WiFi connections, as well as other adequate communication methods, were disrupted, affecting many people’s ability to work from home.
