As per the report of Tuesday (13 August), two tropical cyclones, Ernesto in the Atlantic and Ampil in the Pacific, are being closely monitored due to their potential impacts.
Tropical storm Ernesto is currently tracking toward the Lesser Antilles and is expected to affect Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic as a strong tropical storm or low-category hurricane.
Forecasts suggest that Ernesto will then curve northward, possibly approaching Bermuda as a category 2 or 3 hurricane. Although the exact path remains uncertain, it is advised to keep a close watch on the storm’s development, as rapid intensification could pose a more significant threat.
Bermuda, known for its preparedness in handling hurricanes, should stay vigilant in the coming days.
Meanwhile, tropical storm Ampil is being observed as a potential typhoon threat to Tokyo, Japan. While Ernesto is not currently expected to become a major hurricane before nearing Puerto Rico.
