According to SlowMist specialists, a group of attackers stole over $15 million in Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, and other cryptocurrencies via a bogus HitBTC trading website.
According to the company’s analysts, the phishing site employs three tactics to steal cryptocurrency from customers.
On one hand, if the wallet connection is approved, the fraudsters have access to USDT assets indefinitely.
On the other hand, the site, like a true exchange, offers to deposit to the scammers’ addresses.
Furthermore, like in many similar cases, the digital signature form appears automatically, and by clicking the “Confirm” button, the victim loses all Ethereum holdings.
