The unrest in the northeastern state of Manipur has been ongoing for more than a month and a half, but the situation remains unchanged.
On Tuesday (20 June), violent occurrences were recorded in the state’s troubled areas.
The armed combatants of the Meitei and Kuki communities have yet to accept peace.
On 15 June, it was decided to prohibit internet access throughout the state until 20 June. However, because there has been no change in the issue, it has been decided to take it further. According to the new decree, internet service would be unavailable in the state until 25 June.
Aside from that, schools were supposed to open in Manipur today, 21 June, but the schedule has been pushed back even more. Schools in the state will now reopen on 01 July.
