According to the reports on Thursday (16 January), The Katsina Police Command has confirmed that Dr. Murtala Sale-Dandashire, who was shot during a terrorist attack at Kankara General Hospital, is alive. The incident, which initially sparked rumors of his death, has been clarified by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Aliyu. Dr. Sale-Dandashire is currently receiving treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Katsina.
The attack on the hospital also involved the abduction of three individuals by the terrorists. Authorities have launched an active investigation into the incident and are working to rescue the victims. DSP Aliyu assured the public that efforts are being intensified to track down the perpetrators of the attack.
The news of Dr. Sale-Dandashire’s condition spread rapidly on social media, particularly on the platform X, previously known as Twitter. Initial posts claimed that the doctor had been killed, but these reports were later debunked by the police.
