In a series of successful operations, the Nigerian Army has dealt significant blows to terrorist activities in Kaduna and Niger States. On Thursday (12 September), troops launched a coordinated attack on terrorist strongholds in Chigbolu village, Kachia Local Government Area, following reliable intelligence reports. During an intense firefight, the terrorists abandoned their captives, allowing the troops to rescue 13 kidnapped students, consisting of 6 males and 7 females.
The operation not only freed the students but also resulted in the recovery of a substantial cache of arms and ammunition. In addition, troops intercepted two notorious logistics suppliers linked to the terrorists, seizing over ₦1.3 million, several SIM cards, mobile phones, and other items.
In a related operation in Suleja, Niger State, the Nigerian Army neutralized three terrorists and captured another three. This operation led to the recovery of additional arms, ammunition, and over ₦4 million.
These decisive actions represent a significant victory in the ongoing fight against banditry and terrorism in Nigeria. The Chief of Army Staff commended the troops for their efforts and urged them to sustain the momentum of their offensives, emphasizing the army’s unwavering commitment to restoring peace and security nationwide.
