Elderly people in South Australia and Western Australia have been warned about the existence of a bogus website that is accused of misleading and charging elderly people looking for the Seniors Card.
The bogus website, which claimed to be “officially approved,” seeks to charge applicants for the Seniors Card a $29 fee.
Despite scammers’ efforts, official government websites have said that applying for an elders Card is free and does not require elders to give their banking information.
The South Australian Government Seniors Card website issued a warning about the fraud, asking senior Australians to be watchful and to take action if they become a victim of scam activities.
