According to authorities, the Pakistan-based terror groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) intend to target security establishments and public locations such as train stations on 15 August.
According to information inputs supplied by security services, Delhi is a “prime target” for these terror organizations. Security forces in the city have been placed on high alert as a result of several information inputs concerning terror strike plans in Delhi during the Independence Day celebrations.
Aside from foreign organizations, intelligence agencies obtained information about the risk of internal security disturbances by terror groups.
The Delhi Police have launched an investigation after numerous persons reported receiving messages advising them not to visit the Red Fort on 15 August due to a terror attack there on Independence Day.
The sender claimed to be a member of the Khalistani terrorist group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ). The first incident was reported by Rohini, and the police filed an FIR at the Budh Vihar police station. Following that, many others, including government and media officials, received similar calls and messages from international numbers.
