On Tuesday (16 January), state media announced that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRCG) launched missile attacks on various “terrorist targets” in the Kurdish region of northern Iraq and Syria.
The IRCG stated that the assaults destroyed “a spy headquarters” and a “gathering of anti-Iranian terrorist groups” in Arbil, Iraqi Kurdistan’s capital.
According to Iraq’s Kurdistan Security Council, four persons were murdered and six were injured.
The operation in Syria was in response to previous terrorist attacks that killed Iranians in the southern cities of Kerman and Rask.
